This film is about two awkward teenagers' realization of their sexuality so the whole film felt too awkward for me. If you know tell me, please.) My rates: 6/10 (Though I still don't know what they have wanted with that empty pictureframe which was a continuously returning pattern through the movie, and what has happened to Andy's last lover. Overall the film was good for one and worth seeing it.
Oh, and full male nakedness but not on the main characters's side. The pair looked good together and had only a soft love scene, but there was more explicit heterosexual sex in it. It focused on the mysterious father of one of the boys, and his identity was really a suprise for me. The characters were good, the story was a bit twisted but was all right. But on the whole I figured out what they say.
I had a hard time understanding this movie because there was no english subtitle to it so I turned the volume up and sometimes listened 2-3 times the same sentence I didn't understand at first. I can't believe that the couldn't find at least a real blonde in Sweden, the home of blonde people. The blonde pretty boy looked so artificial with his colorized, "oh so stylish" hair and his doll-like face. We know nothing about the characters's past or future, their relationship with each other, the filmmakers have just grabbed out one and a half day from the characters's life and toss it to the face of the clueless viewer who cannot make anything out of it. This is a swedish movie, a short one, and start with "im medias res". This was the film I couldn't understand at all. Anyway I worth seeing the film at least once. The main pair looked good together, I have always wondered how they could always get the matching pair in a film. But it had it's moments, and the neighbour girl was an unforgettable figure, very funny and straightforward. The main characters were too emotional, swearing undying love when they have not had a decent conversation just one night together. The story runs too fast as though the director had cut out half of it. It was not a bad film, but was not what I thought it would be. I have seen a very passionate and full of love video from the movie so I had the same expectations for the film. Don't miss this either because the scientist (Cedric) looked soooo good, the perfect man you imagin in your dreams, at least I do. Strange, isn't it? =) By the way the story was good, it was very emotional at the second half or near the end. But in these two films I feel no hesitation or self-consciousness so I was not embarrassed either. In these scenes it looked like the actors were embarrassed too and they touched each other with great hesitation. All I could think about was "how the hell can they kiss and touch each other when they are not even gay?". Most of the time I couldn't divide the actor and the character in a love scene. By the way I have realised why was I embarrassed when I have seen a BL love scene in a movie. I loved this movie, the actors felt natural in a kissing scene or love scene. But it was worth it though it was strange to hear it in French language but I would learn French just for this film's sake. This is a french film, I had a hard time till I found it in a better quality on the net. Anyway this is a great story with loveable (and handsome) characters. What I like I can watch countless times (I could not tell how many times I have seen the Bridget Jones's Diary =). I have already watched it twice in two days. They were more real then the ones I have seen in the asian movies.
The actors were perfect, I have felt no hestitation in the love scenes. By the way I will follow through the top 50 gay films' list on AfterElton so in time you will find more title here.Ī very loving film, exactly what I need as someone has written: tenderness. So I will write down a few title and link a few recommendation video of them in case you are interested. So I had great expectation toward these films and I was't disapponted when I have started watching them. They were full of love, made me smile and there was that warm and fuzzy feeling inside. So I thought that I won't like non-asian movies until I have found a couple of very interesting video on Youtube. But it was a disappointment for me, a "watch it once and forget it" type of film. I have watched Queer as Folk a few years ago and I loved it so when the Brokeback Mountain came out I was anxious to see it.
When I was searching through the Youtube I have realised that there are a lot of good non-asian BL movie too.
